(2 Nights ago in Miami: Group of students travelling in car, plane flies low over head. The plane crashes , Henry Darius escapes and kills the students. He is already a convicted murderer. After finishing a killing spree in Miami, he takes a hostage (Alexa Endecott) to
New York City ).

[INT : CAMARA SWEEPS OVER THE SKYLINE OF NEW YORK.(stock).]

CUT TO:

[ENDECOTT APPARTMENT. STUDENTS IN SCHOOL UNIFORM. TAKING LOTS OF DRUGS AND DRINKING ALCOHOL.]

MALE STUDENT 1: Could I die from this?

FEMALE STUDENT 1: That's the fun.

[EXT: ELEVATOR.]

(Henry Darius walks out of the lift, holding a gun to Alexa Endecott.)

DARIUS: So what's it like to grow up with all this money?

ALEXA: What are you going to do to me?

DARIUS: Ah, first things first.

(He covers the gun he is holding to her back with a cloth. Alexa opens the apartment door. She looks around to Darius.)

DARIUS: (Whispering) Go.

(Music and laughter comes from where the students are.)

DARIUS:(whispering) You said nobody was going to be home.

ALEXA: No one's supposed to be here.

DARIUS: Are you trying to set me up!

ALEXA: (Crying.) No. No really, I...

(One of the students walks out into the hall where they are standing. Holding a glass of wine.)

FEMALE STUDENT 2: Hey, look who's here.(turns to friends.) Hey, everybody! It's Alexa.

(Distant shouts of hey! What's up!)

FEMALE STUDNET 2: I thought you were in Miami?

ALEXA: Umm, Where's my sister?

(Darius pushes her forward.)

FEMALE STUDENT 2: I am so high.

(Shows the students, drinking and taking drugs.)

DARIUS: Alexa, you promised to show me your bedroom.(to student.) Will you excuse us?

FEMALE STUDENT 2: Make all the noise you want. (turns music up louder.)

(DARIUS and ALEXA walk up stairs.)

[CUT TO BEDROOM.]

(Alexa whimpering. Darius pushes her to a bookcase. She opens it up. It opens to a safe.)

DARIUS: Open it. (she hesitates.) I didn't fly a thousand miles for nothing. (She doesn't
do anything) Give me your hand.

(He grabs her hand and places it on the lock. Access granted flashes. The safe opens. He stares.)

DARIUS: You double-crossed me?

ALEXA: No, I didn't.

(He shoots her.)

WHITE FLASH TO:

[BACK TO STUDENTS PARTY DOWNSTAIRS.]

FEMALE STUDENT 2: Oh my God, Dom, you're bleeding.

(he wipes his face.)

MALE STUDENT 2: No, It's not mine.

(Looks at table, blood is dripping onto it. They look up to the ceiling where the blood is
coming from. The music turns off. Turn around to see DARIUS.)

FEMALE STUDENT 1: Where's Alexa?

(DARIUS raises his hand drenched in blood.)

FEMALE STUDENT 2: Oh my god.

(screams)

DARIUS: I want everybody to get on the ground. Face down, hands behind your back. Now!

(They all move. FEMALE STUDENT 1 doesn't)

DARIUS: Do what I say and I won't hurt you. I promise.

(They all lie down. Hands behind back. The gun clicks.)

FEMALE STUDENT 1: You said you weren't going to hurt us!

(Screams as he kills all four.)

WHITE FLASH TO:

[ENDECOTTS APPARTMENT.]

(All of the students are lying on ground blood surrounding them. HORATIO, MAC, STELLA
and FLACK walking towards them.)

FLACK: How did this happen? There were security guards at every one of the Endecott's Manhattan properties.

HORATIO: He's got to be here some where.

STELLA: Are we sure this is Darius?

MAC: Take a good look at the position of these kids. Look familiar?

STELLA: Yeah. Those nurses in Midtown. He played in their blood.

(Shows blood smeared all over the mirrors and walls.)

[FLASHES OF NEWSPAPER ARTICLES such as 'Darius escapes.']

[BACK TO ENDECOTT APARTMENT.]

STELLA: Anyone of these kids Alexa Endecott?

(Notices blood dripping onto the table she looks up and sees it's coming from the ceiling.)

[camera travels up through the floor.]

[ BEDROOM WITH THE SAFE.]

(HORATIO,MAC and STELLA examine the body of ALEXA ENDECOTT.)

MAC: She never saw it coming.

HORATIO: No, the safe is open and empty.

STELLA: It's a biometric lock.

MAC: Explains why he brought her to New York. He needed her hand. Her blood vessels.

STELLA: Why would he bring Alexa all the way to New York for money? Thought he got money from the groupie in Florida.

HORATIO: It's not Endecott money and as we know money is only half of it.

MAC: Last thing Darius said down in Miami. He was coming to New York to make things right.

STELLA: Think he has?

MAC: Not even close.

[EXT. NEW YORK CITY (STOCK) - DAY)

[ ENDECOTT APARTMENT. BEDROOM WITH SAFE.]

(MAC kneels next to the body of ALEXA ENDECOTT. Looks at blood splatter on wall. FLACK walks through bedroom door.)

FLACK: Mac.

MAC: Darius is in the wind.

FLACK: I got a broadcast out tri-state area. The M.E.'s office finished bagging the last kid. Alexa's next. We found her younger sister Sarah we're pulling her out of school, Hathaway Prep she's on her way to the precinct.

MAC: Parents?

FLACK: On their way back from Australia. It's obvious he targeted Alexa for money but why her? We're not finding evidence of any previous connection between her and Darius.

MAC: Then we'll work with current connections.

(MAC looks at lock.)

MAC: Have this lock taken back to the lab.

FLACK: I'll get the company out here ASAP.

(MAC notices a red fibre on the door of the safe.)

MAC: Room's been sealed, right?

FLACK: Yeah. To the man.

(MAC takes out his tools and picks up the fabric.)

MAC: Red fabric.

(MAC places it in a plastic bag.)

MAC: Make sure this gets to trace. (hands it to FLACK) I'll stay with the body until the M.E. Gets up here.

FLACK: Alright.

[CUT TO - OUTSIDE APPARTMENT BLOCK.)

(STELLA and HORATIO watch a body bag go past.)

HORATIO: Guard on duty?

STELLA: Yeah, M.E. said that his neck was snapped. I'm going to run trace on the clothes, see if I can find a transfer from Darius. We could be in the loop.

HORATIO: Appreciate it. I'll have my lab send up information on the bullet that we extracted from Lydia Johnson.

STELLA: Lydia Johnson that's the Florida murder that Darius tried to pull off as his own.

HORATIO: Yeah. That's him. Promise of information got him out of prison but it turns out the bullet pointed to someone else. Someone named Rosie.

STELLA: Yeah, we got your information on the bullet. 9 mm, probably a glock. I'm running it through local and state databases as we speak.

HORATIO: I'll check its progress.

STELLA: Are you this hot on every case?

HORATIO: Well, I made a promise to a 8-year-old boy and I'm not going to let him down.

STELLA: Say no more.

[CUT TO - ENDECOTTS APARTMENT.]

(LINDSAY, HAWKES and DANNY walk into the apartment, looking around at the blood that’s in the room. DANNY is using a flash light on the walls. STELLA enters.)

DANNY: Got your call. Team's all here.

STELLA: (sighs) Great thanks.

HAWKES: We came as soon as we could.

LINDSAY: (looking at the glass full of pills on the table.) What's with all the pills?

STELLA: It's a pharm party.

LINDSAY: What's a pharm party?

STELLA: Pharmaceuticals. Empty your parents medicine cabinet and pop until you drop. Rich kids idea of fun. At first glance I've got Lithium, serdalyne and fluoxatine. Most of these drugs don't even get you high.

(MAC enters.)

MAC: Stella and I are going to run with this one. Danny check the service entry area there's an
elevator there, secondary exit. Sheldon bag up these bottles get them over to Lindsay she'll be in trace.

LINDSAY: Sir, I've worked big crime scenes before. I've got two hands I'm ready to work.

MAC: This is a high profile case Lindsay. I want you in the lab and I need your full attention. Remember anything we find here can take us to Darius. Be careful, be thorough.

(LINDSAY LEAVES.)

[CUT TO - Elevator.]

(DANNY is checking the door to the elevator. Using his flash light he finds fibre in trapped in the door. HAWKES enters.)

HAWKES: Just finished bagging the script bottles. You got something?

DANNY: Yeah, multicoloured fibre. It got caught in the elevator gates. I'm thinking one of these kids tried to escape.

HAWKES: It's possible. Let's get all this over to Lindsay.

DANNY: You read my mind.

[EXT. NEW YORK CITY (STOCK) - DAY)

[CUT TO - CSI LAB]

(LINDSAY is examining an object under the microscope. There is a knock at the door.)

DANNY: What have you got Montana?

LINDSAY: Danny, stop calling me that. It's Lindsay, Lindsay Monroe.

DANNY: Alright, alright. I'm just joking.

LINDSAY: Well, it's not funny. Am I supposed to be the new girl and the butt of all your jokes.

DANNY: You upset that Mac dismissed you.

LINDSAY: I can handle it.

DANNY: It's not about that. He was...he was looking out for you. You saw that place, it was a slaughter house in there.

LINDSAY: You think I haven't seen blood like that before?

DANNY: I don't know , to tell you the truth. Have you?

LINDSAY: Yes, and a lot worse than that. Here, take a look.(she returns to the microscope.)
What do you think? The one on the left is a fibre from the gate the one on the right was taken
from one of the dead girl's uniforms.

DANNY: Looks like a match to Hathaway Prep.

LINDSAY: Yeah except none of the victims had a tear in their skirt consistent with the fibre on the gate.

DANNY: So one of the girls got away.

(FLASH OF SOMEONE IN THE ELEVATOR RIPPING A PEICE OF FABRIC OFF THEIR UNIFORM)

(BACK TO LAB)

DANNY: Alright, keep these fibres in play because we got to find that school girl.

(MAC enters the office.)

MAC: Ripped uniform from Hathaway Prep?

DANNY: Yep, any suggestions on our lead.

(FLASHBACK)

FLACK: We found her younger sister Sarah we're pulling her out of school, Hathaway Prep. She's on her way to the precinct.

(FLASHBACK END)

(Back to MAC, DANNY and LINDSAY is the lab.)

MAC: I think I know where to start.

[CUT TO - INTERROGATION ROOM]

(MAC and SARAH ENDECOTT are sitting opposite each other.)

SARAH: I can't believe this happened to my sister. Can I see her please?

MAC: Miss Endecott, I think it's best that we wait until your parents are with you. You know it never quite made sense to me that your classmates were in your house but you weren't.

SARAH: No, I told you I had class so I gave them the key.

MAC: Miss Endecott. Would stand up please?

SARAH: Why?

MAC: Sarah.

(She stands. MAC examines her skirt. Camera zooms in to a tear in it.)

MAC: How did you rip your skirt?

SARAH: Okay, I was there. It was a pharm party but I must have been in the pantry or something when my sister came home because I never heard her arrive and I never knew she was even in the house

MAC: Why didn't you come forward with this information when my detective picked you up at school?

SARAH: (crying) I don't know. I just didn't want to get into trouble, okay. I'm sorry.

MAC: Okay, okay. Sit down. Here. (he gives her a tissue). Why don't you tell me what you remember?

SARAH: Okay. Well, whatever I took I got a dry mouth so I went to the pantry to get some more water and some vodka.

(FLASHBACK)

(SARAH walks into the pantry and picks up a bottle of vodka. She hears voices.)

FEMALE STUDENT 1: Where's Alexa?

(SARAH walks up to the crack in the door and watches them get onto the ground.)

DARIUS: I want everybody to get on the ground.

FEMALE STUDENT 1: You said you weren't going to hurt us!

(Screams as he kills all four.)

(SARAH runs out into the hall and into the elevator, which is where she rips her skirt.)

(END OF FLASHBACK)

(Back to interrogation room)

SARAH: And I went back to school. I just tried to pretend it was all a dream.

MAC: You're lucky to be alive you know that.

SARAH: (crying a lot.) yeah.

[CUT TO - CSI LAB]

(STELLA is on the computer. HORATIO walks in.)

HORATIO: Got your page.

STELLA: You're going to like this.

HORATIO: Oh, really.

(HORATIO walks round and looks at the computer.)

HORATIO: That's a Stryant match

STELLA: Yeah, bullets are lining up like the rat cats at Christmas. Check this out. (Hits some keyon the key board.) Albert Grafton nickname big Al used the same weapon that killed your Lydia Johnson four months ago.

HORATIO: There you have it. Lets go.

STELLA: I'll drive.

HORATIO: After you.

STELLA: Thank you.

[CUT TO - NEW YORK STREET - OUTSIDE CSI's OFFICE - DAY]

(STELLA AND HORATIO are walking down the street.)

STELLA: Parking structure's across the street.

HORATIO: Sounds good.

(A man stops in front of them.)

ATTORNEY: Horatio Cane?

HORATIO: Yep.

ATTORNEY: You've been served. (He hands him a piece of paper.) Sign here please.

(He offers him a pen.)

STELLA: These guys are worse than the paparazzi.

HORATIO: I have my own pen.

(He signs his name. The attorney hands him a second paper and walks away.)

STELLA: Listen, I get named on these things all the time our union attorney's great of you want me to give you his number.

HORATIO: This is a matter outside the job.

STELLA: Sorry.

HORATIO: I have a number of memories up here and not all are good. So I apologise. Let's go and get out.

[CUT TO - CSI LABS]

(MAC walks through the lab corridors.)

HAWKES: Hey, Mac. I ran the script bottles I collected from the Endecott house. A couple of Endecotts. Tom Peroxatine, Alexa Zolpidem.

MAC: Zolpidem? She was taking a sleeping Aid?

HAWKES: Yeah.

MAC: Who's the family doctor?

HAWKES: Doctor Feldstine.

(MAC stops and turns to HAWKES)

MAC: Miles Feldstine?

HAWKES: Yeah, the name ring a bell?

MAC: He testified in Henry Darius' competency hearing murder of three nurses in Midtown. He determined that Darius was sane enough to stay on trail.

HAWKES: This is big right?

MAC: Huge. You just found the connection between Darius and Alexa.

[EXT - NEW YORK CIY (STOCK) - DAY]

[DOCTOR FELDSTINE'S OFFICE]

(FLACK and MAC talking to secretary.)

MAC: NYPD. Detective Taylor this is Detective Flack. We're here to see Doctor Feldstine right now.

SECRETARY: He's with a client. You can't go in. (Points up to a light) The yellow light means he's mid-session.

MAC: Session's over. We're here about a murder.

(Opens office door. Doctor Feldstine is sitting on his chair.)

MAC: Detective Taylor, NYPD. Your yellow light was on. Where's your client?

FELDSTINE: I had a cancellation. I needed some quiet time to do my bills.

MAC: Doctor, how many times did you meet with Henry Darius?

FELDSTINE: Why?

MAC: Did you reveal any information about Alexa Endecott at that meeting?

FELDSTINE: No, that would be against the law.

MAC: Darius targeted Alexa Endecott in Florida and brought her back to her parents home where he robbed and killed her.

FELDSTINE: What does that have to do with...

MAC: Doctor, you're the only point of intersection between killer and victim. Either you're an accomplice or you were duped.

FELDSTINE: Alright I may have unwittingly mentioned some of my clientele.

MAC: Unwittingly?

[FLASHBACK]

(PRISON - HENRY DARIUS AND DOCTOR FELDSTINE ARE SITTING IN A ROOM WITH A GUARD AT THE DOOR.)

DARIUS: And how are you supposed to judge my competency when you work for the county?

FELDSTINE: You see, I have a private practice that includes some of the most notable names in Manhattan. Have you heard of the Bucklewlatts? Van De Grifes? Endecotts?

DARIUS: Endecotts? (FELDSTINE nods) That's impressive.

[END OF FLASHBACK]

[BACK TO DOCTOR FELDSTINE'S OFFICE]

MAC: Sounds like Darius out psyched the psyche. What else did you tell him?

FELDSTINE: I may have mentioned that Alexa would have come into 3 million dollars on her 21st birthday.

MAC: You told a convicted killer that?

(FELDSTINE takes his hand away from his face and reveals a fresh cut.)

FELDSTINE: Oh come on he was away for life what was he going to do with that information?

(He places his hand back on his face.)

MAC: You'd be surprised. What's that?

(MAC points at the cut.)

FELDSTINE: I cut myself shaving.

(MAC takes FELDSTINE'S hand away from his face.)

FELDSTINE: I cut myself shaving it's nothing.

MAC: He was here wasn't he?

FELDSTINE: He came in the out door he told me that if I gave him up he'd kill me.

MAC: Henry Darius was just here?

FELDSTINE: He was just here, yes.

(MAC sees a rope by the window. He runs over to the window and lifts up the blinds. He sees a man on the window cleaners machine operating it down the building. He runs out of the office to FLACK.)

MAC: Flack! Outside!

[CUT TO - OUTSIDE NEAR FELDSTINES OFFICE.]

(A group of police officers led by MAC and FLACK are running.)

MAC: There he is!

(They see a man with his back turned still on the machine. They all point there guns at him. )

MAC: Show me your hands! Turn around, slowly!

(As the man turns around their they drop their guns.)

MAN: He put a gun to my mouth. Made me take my overalls off. Put this hat on.

(They look up at the roof and see the cloth that DARIUS used to cover the gun when he killed ALEXA ENDECOTT floating down. MAC picks it up as it falls to the ground.)

[EXT. TO - NEW YORK (STOCK) - DAY]

[OUTSDIE NEAR FELDSTINES OFFICE.]

(DANNY walks towards MAC holding a the window washers overalls.)

DANNY: Mac. Found these on the roof of the building. He's probably long gone by now.

(MAC examines the overalls. He takes a something out of the pocket.)

MAC: Metro card.

DANNY: That could be the window washers.

MAC: Washer doesn't put these on until he's at work.

DANNY: Why would he make a mistake like that?

MAC: He left this on purpose. He wants a meeting.

(MAC turns the card around. There are numbers on the back.)

MAC: Four digit code on the back. Handwritten. That's the lead train number, I think Darius wants me to catch the same train as him.

DANNY: When?

MAC: That's what I'm going to find out.

[EXT - NEW YORK (STOCK) - DAY]

[CLUB WHERE AL GRAFTON WORKS]

(STELLA and HORATIO.)

DOORMAN: Good afternoon.

(STELLA TAKES OUT HER ID)

STELLA: Albert Grafton works here correct?

DOORMAN: He's security. That's over by the chocolate fountain.

(He points.)

STELLA: Thank you.

(They both walk over to ALBERT GRAFTON)

STELLA: Albert?

ALBERT GRAFTON: It's my club. Something happen that i don't know about?

STELLA: You were involved in a shooting four months ago. At a club in Tribecker.

ALBERT GRAFTON: Security details. It was self-defence, judge dismissed the case.

HORATIO: Where's that gun now, Albert?

ALBERT GRAFTON: I don't know.

HORATIO: Albert here's what i want you to do . Very slowly, i want you to open your jacket. Do it.

(ALBERT GRAFTON opens his jacket and HORATIO takes out a gun.)

STELLA: Well, Horatio that looks like our nine millimetre glock.

HORATIO: Same gun that killed Lydia Johnson, Albert.

ALBERT GRAFTON: I don't know no Lydia Johnson.

STELLA: Our Striations put your gun at her murder back in Florida.

ALBERT GRAFTON: Hey, i bought that gun off some guy at union square.

[QUICK FLASHES OF ALBERT BUYING A GUN FROM A MAN IN UNION SQUARE]

[BACK TO CLUB]

HORATIO: When?

ALBERT GRAFTON: About a year ago.

HORATIO: Okay, that's the same time she was killed my friend.

STELLA: This man look familiar to you.

(STELLA hands ALBERT a sheet with a drawing on.)

HORATIO: Albert, answer the question, or she's going to hook you up.

ALBERT: He looks a lot like the guy that sold me the piece. Ponytail, mouth. His eyes were more narrow set, he had bump in his nose just underneath the ridge.

HORATIO: You have an amazing memory.

ALBERT: I work security, dogg. It's my job to remember faces.

STELLA: Well, that's great because i need every detail.

HORATIO: That's right, dogg.

[EXT. - NEW YORK (stock) - DAY]

[CUT TO - CSI LABS]

(STELLA is working on the man who sold the gun.)

HORATIO: How we doing?

STELLA: Big Al's got a world class memory. Pim's program will start comparing mug shots in a second. You check out his story?

HORATIO: I did, he was in Japan working security with some big rapper the week Lydia was killed. Customs confirmed it for me.

STELLA: So the story holds.

HORATIO: Yeah, so somebody. Somebody killed Lydia Johnson in Florida and then sold the gun to Big Al the gun in New York.

(The computer bleeps.)

STELLA: Alright, here we go. Just got to put in the pim's data. Latino male, 30 to 35, brown hair, brown eyes, 175 to 200 pounds. (She clicks enter.) Over 100 hits. Think we need to pair this down a little bit. Big Al said he had narrow set eyes and a lump on his nose right?

HORATIO: Yes he did.

STELLA: Then there's the pony tail.

(match comes up.)

HORATIO: Vincent Rosetti.

STELLA: That's your Rosie.

HORATIO: Yes, did time in Attacus same time as Darius.

STELLA: Well, Darius got information the shrink. You can bet he got information on a convict.

HORATIO: I agree.

STELLA: Let me check his current status. Got on parole two days ago.

HORATIO: His parole officer will know where he works. In the mean time I'm going to get this to Al to confirm it.

STELLA: No problem.

[EXT - NEW YORK (STOCK) - DAY]

(Train is travelling through a tunnel. Very crowded. MAC walks down the middle of the train. He's looking around for Darius. Someone knocks a box out a woman's hands. MAC picks it up and gives it back to her.)

DARIUS: You're quite the gentleman.

MAC: Henry.

DARIUS: Detective Taylor I'm impressed you went through all the trouble.

MAC: Been busy Henry. Here, Miami.

DARIUS: You said you'd help me. You offered me a deal if i confessed. Those three nurses in Midtown. I sat in your interview room and i told you everything.

MAC: Except, why.

DARIUS: I was hoping you'd tell me. You're the only one who knows I can't control it.

MAC: That's why i came alone. I want you to come with me.

DARIUS: I want to.

MAC: Next step. You and me.

(MAC looks down and DARIUS opens his hands. He has blood all over them.)

DARIUS: I can't.

(MAC looks around. A man who is a passenger on the train lolls his head showing a knife wound in his neck.)

DARIUS: Who you going to take care of now, huh?! Me or him?

(DARIUS pulls the emergency stop. The train grinds to a halt. Darius runs out of a fire exit. MAC watches him run away and tends to the man.)

MAC: NYPD. Everybody stay calm, it's under control. (he turns to the man sitting next to the patient.) Sir, go and tell the conductor to shut down, right away.(speaking into his radio) CSI Detective Taylor to central i have a male stab victim, heavy bleeder on the train to Woodside station on the subway. I need an ambulance right away.

[EXT. - NEW YORK (STOCK) - DUSK]

[CUT TO - CSI OFFICES]

(STELLA and Mac walking in towards each other.)

STELLA: Hey.

MAC: Hi.

STELLA: Flack told me the guy on the train is going to be okay.

MAC: Rescue stabilised him. He was lucky.

STELLA: Lucky you were there.

MAC: Never mind that. I got every man in blue out there looking for Darius. Full court press. This is the man hunt of the decade right here, right now.

STELLA: I hear you. See this face. I'll check in with you later, Mac.

MAC: Where you headed?

STELLA: Got a lead on the guy that was in Attaca with Darius. He works at a parking garage on 5th. I'll keep you posted.

(MAC looks around. Notices LINDSAY in the lab.)

MAC: What's important?

LINDSAY: This is the fibre from inside the vault.

(MAC uses micro scope to zoom in the fibre.)

MAC: Synthetic, Okay.

LINDSAY: Rip stop nylon with a polyearthing coating probably some kind of protectant.

MAC: Against weather so we're talking gym bag, backpack, some kind of carrier.

LINDSAY: Exactly.

MAC: The eye witnesses who remember seeing Darius enter the building with Alexa said neither of them was carrying a bag.

LINDSAY: The fibre is telling us somebody else was there.

MAC: Danny's on the biometric lock we'll find out who.

[EXT - NEW YORK (STOCK) - DUSK]

(PARKING GARAGE 5th AVENUE.)

STELLA: (to man) Where's Vincent Rosetti? He parks cars here.

(A red Ferrari arrives, Vincent Rosetti gets out. HORATIO sees him.)

HORATIO: Hey, Vincent!

(VINCENT ROSETTI gets back into the red Ferrari.)

HORATIO: Vincent don't do it! Vincent!

(VINCENT drives out into the road. STELLA and HORATIO run after the car. VINCENT crashes into a taxi outside thegarage. He drives down into a smaller road and gets caught in a traffic jam. STELLA and HORATIO arrive. )

STELLA: Mid-town traffic's a killer.

[CUT TO - Outside on the street, VINCENT is cuffed up.]

HORATIO: Vincent Rosetti you're under arrest for the murder of Lydia Johnson.

STELLA: And that's just the charge in Florida.

HORATIO: Selling your weapon in union square to a stranger, Vincent. That wasn't too bright, was it?

VINCENT: No way I’ve been in Attaca the last six months on a stolen property bid.

STELLA: Yeah we know that's where you met up with Henry Darius.

VINCENT: So i was in lockdown with him, big deal.

HORATIO: On the contrary Vincent, it is a big deal.

[FLASHBACK TO LOCKDOWN]

(Cell with Vincent Rosetti and Henry Darius.)

VINCENT: Great, lockdown could take hours. (he notices a man sitting next to him.) The name's Rosie.

DARIUS: Henry Darius.

VINCENT: Henry Darius? Wow, man i heard about you on the news. You killed those nurses.

DARIUS: Allegedly.

VINCENT: I killed someone once.

DARIUS: Tell me about it.

[END OF FLASHBACK.]

(back to the street.)

STELLA: Open your mouth. (She goes to swab his mouth. He doesn't open his mouth) Open your mouth.

HORATIO: Do it.

(he opens his mouth.)

[CUT TO - CSI LABS.]

(Danny is on the computer.)

MAC: I got a urgent message. What's up?

DANNY: We've got a discrepancy in the time line.

MAC: Okay.

DANNY: Yeah, I've been working on this biometric palm analyser, right...Take a look. (He points to the screen.) The Safe was opened at 1:30 pm.

MAC: Consistent with the time of the murder.

DANNY: But i checked earlier in the day. It was also opened up at 10:30 am.

MAC: That's a half hour before Darius landed at Teetaborough.

DANNY: Hence my urgent message. There is no way Darius could have opened that safe the first time.

MAC: So it's possible somebody else took the money out of the safe before Darius and Alexa got there.

DANNY: (He nods.) Give me a second and i will tell you who.(He types on the keyboard.) Endecotts loaded the safe up with the approved palm prints.

(SARAH ENDECOTT flashes on the screen.)

MAC: Little sister. Let's have homicide bring her in.

[CUT TO - INTERROGETION ROOM]

(HORATIO and STELLA are interviewing VINCENT ROSETTI.)

VINCENT: I told you guys I've never been to Florida.

STELLA: Witnesses say otherwise.

VINCENT: A hundred guys could look like that.

HORATIO: A hundred guys don't have your DNA Vince. Which we matched to the shovel you used to bury Lydia in Miami.

[FLASHES of VINCENT burying LYDIA JOHNSON with a shovel.]

HORATIO: The key word here is match.

STELLA: First you shot her and then you came back here to New York and sold the gun. But the striations followed you Vincent.

HORATIO: Lets go Vince. Lets hear it. Right now.

VINCE: Squirmy little Eminem wannabe in Fort-lardadale paid me. Wanted to scare the husband, I end up with the wife.

[FLASHBACK]

(Vince in a car with Lydia Johnson.)

VINCENT: (he holds a gun to LYDIA JOHNSONS HEAD) Scream and I'll blow your head off.

LYDIA: What do you want?

VINCENT: Drive.

[END OF FLASHABACK.]

(Back to interrogation room.)

HORATIO: How did you from scaring to murder?

VINCENT: The broad started to fight me. I was just going to drive her around a couple of hours until her husband played some song. She grabbed the gun, It went off. She made the first move.

[QUICK FLASHBACK OF THEM FIGHTING IN THE CAR, HE SHOOTS HER.]

[BACK TO INTERROGATION ROOM.]

STELLA: Oh don't even blame her for what you did.

VINCENT: She was driving crazy, bleeding everywhere. Screaming, i had to shut her up.

HORATIO: So you put a bullet in her temple.

VINCENT: It worked.

HORATIO: (whispering) It worked. Where's Darius, Vincent?

VINCENT: Beats me? Haven't seen him since that day after lockdown.

HORATIO: Okay, Vince. Stella, could I have a word with you please?

STELLA: Yeah.

(She gets up.)

HORATIO: I would really love first crack at this guy.

STELLA: Right, this is Johnson's son. I get it. Look, as long as he's off the streets it's fine with me.

HORATIO: Fair enough.

(Her pager goes off.)

STELLA: It's Mac, he's got something on Darius.

HORATIO: I'll catch you up.

(She leaves.)

HORATIO: Vincent.

(he seats down opposite him.)

VINCENT: Sounds top secret.

HORATIO: It was top secret, Vincent. So I want you to be the first to know that you are returning to Florida

VINCENT: Cool, I like the sun.

HORATIO: Yes, well you won't get to see very much of it Vincent because we enforce the death penalty.

[CUT TO - CSI LAB.]

(STELLA and MAC are on the computer. FLACK walks in.)

FLACK: Checked on the whereabouts of Sarah Endecott. She's not at the house or her school or anywhere in between.

MAC: That's what we figured. So we switched over to plan B.

STELLA: Which is no girl ever leaves her house without her cell phone. Least not at that age.

MAC: GPS her phone number.

(She finds where SARAH is.)

STELLA: Got it. Tiffany's. Now you're talking my language.

MAC: You can tell from a map.

STELLA: Are you kidding? You can tell from the moon, I love those little blue boxes. Lets go.

[CUT TO - OUTSIDE TIFFANY’S]

(STELLA and MAC wait outside. SARAH ENDECOTT walks out of the shop holding lots of shopping bags. She walks over to them.)

MAC: Sarah.

SARAH: Umm, Hi, Detective Taylor.

STELLA: Little retail therapy? That's one way to get over the loss of your sister. May I take a peek? (she opens the bag.) Let's see. Nice. (looks at the receipt.) Eight thousand dollars and she spent cash.

SARAH: It's my…It's my money I can use it however I want.

(MAC takes the bag from off her back.)

MAC: How did you rip your back pack? We found red fibres from a back pack in your parents bedroom by the safe. I thought you never went in there.

SARAH: I..I don't. I hardly ever do.

STELLA: This is pretty heavy. Mind if I open it?

SARAH: Okay.

(STELLA opens the bag. Cash inside it.)

STELLA: It's a lot more than walk around money even for an Endecott.

MAC: You were in the house to steal the money. The pharm party was just a ruse.

[FLASHBACK TO PHARM PARTY]

(SARAH ENDECOTT opens the safe in her parents bedroom. While the party is happening downstairs. She packs her bag with the money. AS she leaves red fibre gets caught in the door.)

SARAH VOICE OVER: Well the plan was have some friends over. Party and I'd take the money while they were there. That way if the cops got wind I'd have an alibi

[END OF FLASHBACK].

STELLA: This doesn't look like the full 3 million.

MAC: You couldn't have spent all this today. Where's the rest of the money?

[CUT TO - INTERROGATION ROOM.]

(SARAH ENDECOTT and MR ENDECOTT are sitting in interrogation room. MAC walks in.)

Mac: Mr Endecott we are doing everything humanly possible to put this animal behind bars.

MR ENDECOTT: Where were you Sarah?

MAC: Sarah is in a lot of trouble sir. She failed to notify authorities after fleeing the scene of a murder, robbery.

MR ENDECOTT: Wait, wait slow down. Sarah didn't steal the money I told her she could take it from the safe.

MAC: With all due respects sir. I happen to know that the money was for Alexa I know all about the trust fund. Money was for Alexa on the day of her 21st birthday.

MR ENDECOTT: Coming from money, kids can end up with no ambition, no drive. I told them, if they stayed clean and sober at 21 they would get three million. Alexa was going to start a day care down in Florida. She loved kids. Her whole life was in front of her.

MAC: Perhaps your youngest daughter stole the money because she knew she would never pass the clean and sober clause.

MR ENDECOTT: I lost one daughter today. I'm not going to loose another. I told Sarah she
could take the money.

MAC: You should know sir, we only found half of the money. Where's the other half?

(MAC and MR ENDECOTT look at SARAH.)

MR ENDECOTT: Sarah, who have you got mixed up with this time?

[CUT TO - Dr FELDSTINE's OFFICE.]

SECRETARY: I'm sorry, you can't go in there. He's in a meeting.

FLACK: We don't want him. Warrant with your name on it. Where's the money?

MAC: Sarah gave you up.

(FLACK looks under the desk.)

FLACK: End of the year bonus?

SECRETARY: Can we do this somewhere else?

MAC: No. (he walks to the wall.) These walls are insulated. How did you get access to Alexa's therapy sessions?

SECRETARY: I type the notes from every one of Doctor Feldstines sessions. Transcribed a session Alexa had three years ago, talking about a lump sum . How did it come do.

[FLASHBACK TO THERAPY SESSION.]

Alexa: I feel so guilty. You know I'm getting all this money and my sister won't get a penny.

(FELDSTINE writes down notes.)

[END OF FLASHBACK.]

[BACK TO OFFICE.]

MAC: And you knew Sarah was the black sheep of the family?

SECRETARY: Parents sent Sarah in a few times but it didn't take. She spent most of her time on the phone with me cancelling appointments.

MAC: And you became friendly.

SECRETARY: I knew when Alexa would get her money, marked it in my calendar. When the time came I called Sarah I had the info she had the access.

[FLASHBACK]

(On the phone to SARAH.)

SARAH: Three million dollars? Where?

SECRETARY : You parents safe. Look all I want is half.

SARAH: Look I'm the Endecott here why should give you anything?

SECRETARY: Because if you don't. I'll go to the cops.

SARAH: And point the finger at me right? Okay deal.

[END OF FLASHBACK.]

[BACK TO OFFICE.]

MAC: You're are aware that when Darius found the safe empty he killed Alexa, aren't you?

SECRETARY: No, I wasn't aware of that.

MAC: well, you'll have plenty of time to think about it. Twenty, twenty five years.

FLACK: Put your hands behind your back please. You're taking a ride.

[CUT TO - CSI OFFICES.]

HORATIO: Mac, heard there was a break in the case?

MAC: Stella already has you on speed dial. I thought you had to duck out on personal business?

HORATIO: I got an extension.

MAC: Good news for both of us.

(they both go to lab. STELLA is testing blood.)

MAC: Blood evidence from Alexa's crime scene?

STELLA: Oh yes gentlemen, I found something very interesting. I compared reference samples from Alexa Endecott to Henry Darius. They're related.

HORATIO: Related? (STELLA hands HORATIO a sheet of information.) They are brother and sister.

STELLA: Also ran the references from the Endecott parents. Mrs Endecott is unrelated but Tom Endecott is Henry Darius' father.

MAC: Well, that changes everything. We think Endecott knows this?

STELLA: I'll have Flack look into a paternity suit in his past.

HORATIO: The question becomes who's the target? Endecott or his other daughter?

MAC: We had to release Sarah.

HORATIO: I better GPS here.

MAC: Worked once, I'll try and track down Endecott.

[CUT TO - INTERROGATION ROOM.]

MR ENDECOTT: Come again?

MAC: Henry Darius is your biological son.

MR ENDECOTT: This killer? You can't be serious?

MAC: Mr Endecott. DNA doesn't lie.

MR ENDECOTT: Look, as a young guy I sowed my share of wild oats.

MAC: Did you know you had a son out there?

MR ENDECOTT: I vaguely remember a girl years ago telling me she had a son, claimed it was mine.

[STELLA walks in.]

STELLA: Actually it was more than just a memory. Rosemary Martinkes, filed a paternity suite against you twenty three years ago claiming her son was yours.

MR ENDECOTT: The doctors couldn't prove anything.

STELLA: There was no DNA testing back then.

MR ENDECOTT: I met my wife by then we were starting our own family. Oh my God, is that why he killed Alexa?

MAC: I beginning to think all the women he killed were stand ins for your daughters.

MR ENDECOTT: He told you this?

MAC: He doesn't understand it himself.

STELLA: See getting Alexa's trust fund money meant that he was a legitimate heir when the money wasn't there he responded with rage.

MR ENDECOTT: My daughter, Sarah is she in danger?

MAC: We have some concerns about that.

STELLA: Darius said he came to New York to make things right.

MR ENDECOTT: Oh my God.

[CUT TO - ENDECOTTS APARTMENT.]

(There is a knock at the door. SARAH walks up to it but doesn't open the door.)

SARAH: Who is it?

DARIUS: Open the door, sis, Sarah. Where's Alexas money?

SARAH: It's gone.

DARIUS: I want you to know who I am. I'm your biological brother. Open the door. You do what I say I won't hurt you, I promise.

(SARAH opens the door and stands back. DARIUS opens the door. HORATIO has his gun pointed at him.)

HORATIO: Come on in Darius. (to SARAH) Step away Sarah.

(MAC comes into view, holding his gun at DARIUS.)

MAC: Turn around, put your hands on your head. (he cuffs him.) You're under arrest.

HORATIO: Darius. It's all over.

[CUT TO - LATER - ENDECOTTS APPARTMENT.)

(HORATIO watches DARIUS being taken away.)

MAC: Nice job.

HORATIO: Our pleasure.

MAC: Want a hop in the squad? I'll take you red lights, to LaGuardia.

HORATIO: That's all been arranged. But do me a favour and give my best to Stella will you. I'll see you Mac.

[CUT TO - NEW YORK STREETS]

(HORATIO is talking on his phone.)

ADAM: Hello?

HORATIO: hey, Adam it's lieutenant Cane. I've got some news for you. I got him and I'm bringing him back to Miami.

ADAM: I'm sorry Lieutenant.

HORATIO: Hey, buddy. Wait a second, you never need to apologise to me. Okay? I'm here and I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere.

[CUT TO - CELL]

(DARIUS inside cell. MAC is talking to him.)

MAC: You'll be extradited back to Miami after we file on you here in New York.

(MAC turns to walk away.)

DARIUS: Do you know what's wrong with me?

MAC: I'm not a shrink.

DARIUS: You're better than doctor Fledstine I'll tell you that. Thank you…for everything.

MAC: Pardon?

DARIUS: This may sound crazy, Detective Taylor but you fought for me. You chased me all over Manhattan.

MAC: That's my job.

DARIUS: But you came looking for me. That's more than my father ever did. You think that if he had acknowledged me I wouldn't have done the things I did?

MAC: That's not for me to decide. That's between you and your own personal God. Me? I don't pity you Darius. There's a lot of people with worse stories than yours, they never hurt anyone. You killed twelve people in two states over the last seventy two hours and you want me to feel sorry for you because your Daddy didn't kiss you when you were a baby. You asked for my help, I did help you. Your where you belong. You rot in hell you son of a bitch.
